CD Projekt Red recently announced a major update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch. Although the patch contains many useful graphics and gameplay updates, there is something else for those who have played the game on PC.
Game update 3.6 adds integration of the backup file with Steam and GoG. Now players who have played on PC can now continue their adventures on the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the latest game in the series by CDPR. The series ends Geralt’s adventures while finally presenting his longtime girlfriend Yennefer from Vengerberg with Ciri, who also has a few moments of play in the game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Nintendo Switch Update Lets Players Integrate PC Saves
The full edition contains all DLCs and expansion packs previously released with the original game.
The update news page states: “Among the features introduced by update 3.6, there is the integration of backup files with Steam and GOG, allowing players to continue their PC adventure on the go, as well as support for HUD, menus, and Gwent touch control. ”
For those who have already played TW3, they understand the duration of the game. They might have avoided buying the game for the Nintendo Switch because they didn’t want to start hundreds of hours of play again.
Now players can use their old backups from previous games on PC, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Mods will not be transferred, but any bugs related to mods or bugs in modified save files can cause problems on the Switch version of the game.
If the backup file is changed after it is imported into the Nintendo Switch, the Cloud Save function will not be able to recognize it.
Additional updates include more text languages, support for touch control, graphics options, performance optimizations
