Aksys Games and Mikage LLC have announced that they are working on an original new project. The game is expected to be released in 2021 in North America, with no release date currently known for other regions of the world. Little is known about the game at the moment. We know that more information will be given at Anime Expo 2020 in Los Angeles, California, during the Aksys Games panel. This Expo will take place from July 2 to 5 and will serve as a means for developers to give a little more information. Other than that, we know the release date will be somewhere in 2021, with no clues as to the quarter of the year.
We also know that the game will be released on multiple platforms, including PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 and 5. It will also have a VR port, but it’s unclear if it will have specific VR compatibility. Aksys Games and Mikage LLC Announce Work on a New Original Project for 2021 If you’re not familiar with both, Mikage is a recently formed studio. The development studio was founded by Ryohei Mikage, the former CEO of Imageepoch before declaring bankruptcy. As CEO of Imageepoch, Mikage had experience with titles such as Sol Trigger, 7th Dragon and Stella Glow before the business fell.
Aksys is known for a variety of games, most recently Criminal Girls X. The title is their 10th anniversary project from the Criminal Girls series that was launched at the start of the decade and was a well-known success, especially in Japan. Released mainly for mobiles and PCs, it did not have the console capabilities that this next title will include. Criminal Girls X is expected to be released as a free version in Japan in February 2020, with the full version due out a few months later in May 2020. Although the focus is on PC and mobile, Mikage has worked to also try to secure a PS4 version.
